Covered Call Alternative
Selling calls against long stock can be a great way to lower underlying cost basis, but this can tie up a lot of capital, which can be especially problematic for smaller accounts. So what do you do if you don't own 100 shares but want to lower cost basis? In this webinar, Joe Cusick of MoneyBlock discusses an alternative where you purchase less than 100 shares of stock, and sell call vertical spreads against the stock position to reduce our cost basis, similar to a covered call.
